A unique monthly pop up bar in the heart of Brooklyn at BJAG, AfterParty combines a warm, funky, thoughtful atmosphere with experimental art openings, eclectic musical acts, unexpected performance art, and delicious, unusual cuisine,
Every month features different artists, but the core ingredients remain the same. Inspiration and good conversation in one yummy slice.
This month’s art opening begins from 7-8 p.m., featuring artist Yitzchok Moully, returning from road tripping around America to showcase his work.
Moully’s solo show at Brooklyn Jewish Art Gallery showcases his new venture into “augmented reality art”. Well known for his bright, expressive Jewish pop art, Moully’s recent journey into technology takes his work to a whole new level.
Entitled, “Visualizing Spirituality”, Moully calls upon the viewer as witness- through their phone!- to the invisible effects that occur to the world when a Jewish commandment is performed, according to Jewish thought. Prepare for a color explosion!
The afterparty will kick off in the gallery space at 8 p.m- 11 p.m., featuring the Brooklyn Jazz Warriors’ for their “Kadeira” record release party. BJW’s rhthymic beats and soulful lyrics, written and performed by lead singer and painist Yisroel Arye Gootblatt, will be sure to move you. All new songs, all new vibrations being felt.
Don’t forget to come hungry! Itta Roth from the sensational “Mason and Mug” will be on hand to satisfy your gourmet tooth with incredible gourmet sandwiches, chockful of all the ingredients you never knew you loved. Come for the food, stay for the witty, Australian banter.
