Giving Tuesday

Организатор:
YIVO Institute for Jewish Research

On Thanksgiving, we give thanks. On Black Friday, we rush the malls. Small Business Saturday is for the little guy. And on Cyber Monday we break the internet.

YIVO is proud to once again be part of the #GivingTuesday movement! #GivingTuesday is about coming together to support the organizations you love in order to help create a better world. Last month, YIVO announced the discovery of 170,000 Jewish documents that were thought to have been destroyed during the Holocaust. These documents—the last remnants of Jewish culture from pre-World War II Eastern Europe—have been described by David Fishman, professor of Jewish History at The Jewish Theological Seminary and author of The Book Smugglers, as “the most important body of material in Jewish history and culture to be unearthed since the Dead Sea Scrolls.”

This #GivingTuesday, we’re looking for your help to make these newly-found pieces of Jewish history—from the diary of an eleven-year-old before the war, to letters from Jewish greats like Marc Chagall, Sholem Aleichem, and Chaim Grade—available to everyone.

Kick off the Season of Giving by supporting YIVO. Make your donation to YIVO today.

Most importantly, make it public. Tell your friends, mishpokhe, coworkers, third cousin twice removed, bubbe, and anyone else you can think of that you chose YIVO and they should too.

Donate $100 or more on November 28 to be entered for a chance to win a signed copy of The Book Smugglers!

Join us and be a part of the global tradition of generosity.
Thank you!
