National Yiddish Theatre Folksbiene presents a series of concerts exploring the treasures of Yiddish musical theater and featuring favorite melodies and newly rediscovered hits with restored orchestrations, showcasing New York’s finest singers.
The first event in the series presents revitalized work from Vaudeville and the early years of Yiddish theater. This concert will feature melodies from the earliest stirrings of Yiddish theater in 1870s Romania to the operetta, operas, and musicals from New York City’s Golden Age in the 1910s and 1920s. Join NYFT at the Museum of Jewish Heritage on Feb. 11th at 2pm for this exclusive concert event with music by the Uptown Downtown Orchestra conducted by Zalmen Mlotek.
