The program aims to improve awareness of teen social responsibility as active citizens in the democratic society using the Jewish values and concepts as the guide (appropriate for 14-17 years old teens from the Russian-speaking Jewish community).
The workshops will consist of film discussion, talks by local social activists/ advocates, role-playing/ debate, trip to the museum, and group-based service project. The focus of this year’s program is #immigration (i.e., Jewish perspective on immigration based on ancient texts & recent Soviet Jewry experience). #RSJteen #CivicEngagement #JewishValues #YouthVoice #Democracy
This program is made possible with a grant from The Jewish Education Project (and support by UJA-Federation of New York and Genesis Philanthropy Group)
